AR Indoor Classic - aka Arkansas "Air Conditioned Classic"
Tontitown, AR 08/11/2007
The 2nd Annual Arkansas Indoor Classic held in beautiful NW Arkansas at Ozark Sportsman Supply is now history. This is the second year in a row I have been spoiled by shooting indoors in August in Arkansas. Outside the temp was over 100°, indoors it was not. The sun was beating down outdoors, indoors it was not. The owner of the store and range is Mike Luttrell, and he always puts on a challenging match, not only for the Classic, but his monthly club matches as well. I am always amazed at his ingenuity, because with an indoor range all rounds must hit the backstop, and the stages are always designed so you don't really notice it. I elected to shoot in the Production division since Nationals is right around the corner. There were several good shooters in the match, not only in Production but other divisions as well. Long story short I shot very focused on accuracy and took home the Production title, winning all the stages in Production and winning by over 30%. I also saw the combined overall and I won the entire match by 10%. Even though thats not supposed to count it is a good measure of where you stand. I would like to say I was penalty free, but I sent one into hardcover on the classifer. Other than that little hiccup I was very happy with the way I shot.
